I have thick curly hair under my shoulders that gets very tangled when I wash it in the sink (upside down I think, forward into the sink leaning), as opposed to washing in the shower. I used a very wide-toothed comb to deal with tangles, but decided to try this brush in hopes that it would get the job done. It wasn't enough to untangle the tangles in my hair. I think the way the brush delivers is fine for fine to fine hair, but for heavy hair that needs something stronger, it didn't quite work on wet hair. With my dry hair it works without any problems. Love the fact that the brush is made from wheat straw and not plastic... good idea. I stick with my brush for dry hair, but I have to stick with my comb for my wet hair.
