I've been trying hard to get rid of some household items that can't be recycled or cause other problems. I thought I'd banished all smelly sponges for good by replacing them with numerous machine-washable and even compostable rags and using a combination of baking soda and vinegar to loosen hardened pan deposits. But unfortunately! One fine day, a new pack of sponges appeared with layers of scrubbing and a loud warning that it was impossible to wash the pans the way I advocate. I did a little research and found these dish sponges. Complaints are immediately stopped! They wash well without damaging pots, rinse really well to avoid odors, dry well over the kitchen faucet, and then go straight into the washing machine with other towels and rags when they finally need a really good wash. Cleaning. I think they will last and be worth the extra money. And no more foul smells coming from sponges or forgetting to put sponges in the microwave!
