I spent about a month researching cameras from different vendors and sources. After reading reviews from both "technicians" and customers, I finally settled on Auto-Vox because they had a small number of bad reviews and a large number of positive reviews from everyone who reviewed the camera. So I bought online from Revain, they shipped very quickly and it really took less than an hour to install. (But I watched about twenty YouTube videos on the subject first.) So when I got started I had the tools I needed, I parked in the shade and was installed and toured in under an hour, about an hour and a half .half if you turn on the "put away tools" time. It takes about a second or two for the camera to pop up, but that's not a problem as the side mirrors need to be checked first. The image itself is a bit grainy, but certainly sharp enough to be seen and used as a backup during the day. (In one of the reviews I read online, the customer said they replaced the antenna with a higher rated one, 8dBi, and the graininess was gone. The connector is an SMA jack, so it was in my router easy to find. I replaced the one that Auto-Vox had supplied with a Linksys 8dBi antenna and of course the picture went from grainy to sharp). The evening backup is just as clear to me but may not be as clear to you as I've replaced my reverse lights with bright white LEDs and they complement the camera LEDs well. So if you put this camera in, I would replace your reverse lights with LEDs. I bought mine from Autozone because my city and country is only about $6 a bulb. It was a little extra expense for me as I drive a lot at night and do a lot of backup work so the extra lights and camera gave me a lot of confidence and added security. Keep in mind that all cars bought or sold in 2019 must be equipped with backup cameras, and according to the National Safety Board, they do. I spent $135 (roughly for camera antenna and LED lights with all taxes). was a small investment for much-needed security improvements and a great return on investment. Avoid a small wing bend, or better yet, a pet, child, or anything small behind you and the camera will pay dividends. I only gave four stars because I don't think you need to modify anything you buy for a specific need, but as you can see I don't mind modifying it when I need it. I would recommend the camera to friends and other family members and have even installed it in my wife's car. Save driving.
