It takes a little getting used to getting dressed. Once you understand this, everything will go much faster. I used a bit of the "Rotate when pressed" method. If you have a rusty top, simply file it down a bit or trim or collect the rust and protruding edges until it's smooth enough to press down with the point. .I used these on my old dishwasher pot holder which had a lot of rusty tips and left rust spots on my dishes. This prevented further rust. I immediately bought these lids for my new dishwasher and I hope they don't rust at all. I strongly recommend using them. It takes you a little time to apply, but it's worth it!
