The stand is suitable when you need something right now. I find it super easy, too easy. But the deed was done. The top bar slides for width adjustment and has a small pin that clicks into place as you stretch it, but only up to a certain length. If you want it to be shorter or longer than the pin, you run the risk of letting it loose. There are two rubber plugs at the top of the post that screw on and tighten the leg braces. One of my rubber caps came off like it had lost a thread. Legs below, which are stretched, stagger a little. At times it seemed like my boner would fall, but it survived. I used my stand as a paper flower stand and my flowers are attached to the billboard to give them some weight. Approximately 5 pounds flower board. In general, everything worked and survived. This is a good position for now. You get what you paid for. Don't expect a big, solid stand. Get this before you save on a REAL stand. That's what I do Much luck.
