Review on Linon Kitchen Island Granite Top Furniture by Caitlin Marie

Unsafe design, incredibly poor workmanship

This product does not appear to be safe. The heavy granite countertop is attached to the rest of the unit with two (2) wood dowels and no other fasteners/adhesives. The dowel is too small to fit properly in the hole in the granite countertop and is incredibly short. It is therefore not possible to attach the tabletop to the table in such a way that it cannot be lifted or pushed off with little effort. I believe the above issue applies to all copies of this product as it appears to be a design issue. Another issue is the incredibly poor build quality that makes my particular block unassemblable: - There is usually a lot of excess glue or composite wood splinters left in the various holes where you have to insert nuts and bolts. , and in at least one case this made it impossible to use any of the nut holes (in other cases I was able to dig up the excess dirt but the user didn't really have to). One of the wheels just isn't mounted. I used over 150 pounds of force to get it into the hole and it just wouldn't go in (and I double checked the other wheels, they didn't go in either) - Item smells directly like cigarettes - - I assumed so that it would happen, but reading other reviews it doesn't seem to be the case. All in all I think this product is absolute rubbish. If I hadn't gotten it back, it would have been thrown out immediately. Only buy this product if you want to spend 4 hours of your time collecting and disassembling junk.
