Could be better good for nailers

Not a bad gun. I was a little hesitant to make the purchase due to some bad reviews and after reading a few thousand nails I can say they weren't entirely wrong. My first gun started jamming after the first 1000 shots. I spoke to the great people at Metabo's factory service who were willing to admit that the tool can be a bit finicky. He seems to require being kept extraordinarily clean. They recommended cleaning it with a fast-drying electronics solvent and lubricating it with a silicone-based lubricant. Apparently the glue that holds the pins together builds up in the magazine over time and prevents the fasteners from advancing properly. This dirt does not have to be obvious to visual inspection to cause problems. This gun was still under warranty so I sent it back just in case, but now I have a bag of recommended cleaning supplies. I'll admit that a tool that requires this kind of cleanliness isn't exactly ideal for the job site, but I wanted to stick with a battery system and the other guns are excellent.

Pros
  • nailers
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
