The two-tier stand is made of a soft wood-like material and was easy to assemble; however, it came with a large washer but the washer is not even shown or mentioned in the directions so I'm not sure if it's intended for the bottom tier or the upper tier (I put it on the underside of the bottom tier). It is lightweight but sturdy enough to hold 4-6 coffee mugs (bottom tier) and 7 bottles of water (top tier) but I wouldn't recommend lifting it by the round handle. It is not worth $50.00 in my honest opinion considering you can get a galvanized metal one at Hobby Lobby for about half price when they're on sale.
