I should have read the negative reviews I opened the box and examined each ring carefully. I was dismayed that not only were some of the flutes ripped or ripped off pieces because they weren't cut cleanly (and the material is weak), but also that the top layer was peeling off in many gouges. The rings already had small cracks in those places where dirt and germs could collect, but if they did crack it didn't bode well for the quality. I've since gone back and looked at the negative reviews and found that people often fall apart after a few uses and I believe it. This is a more flexible/softer material than the original Instant Pot seals and they already fall right out of the box! It reminds me more of the stuff you find on cheap kids' gauze shoes than anything good for eating, let alone pressure cooker seals! I noticed that they smell like plastic/rubber. fits my 8 liter. Instant Pot Duo machines (I have 2). They are looser/larger than the original gaskets in each of my machines, the one I've used for a long time and the one that's almost new. With all these quality issues, please don't waste your time and resources to throw them in the trash can. I am getting the "gift card balance" refunded but hate the environmental waste this product and order was. To be honest, original seals too. I'm not sure if "compression testing" is an acceptable measure for this product. It was difficult to get my camera to focus on the right spots and show detail, but these photos should give you a general idea. It is much easier to see the cracks and parting layers live.
