Review on 🏍️ Kawell Motorcycle Switch: 7/8 Inches Handlebar Control for Turn Signals, Horn, Headlight - Ideal for Dirt Bikes and Motorbikes by Ivan Gee

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not all of these switch assemblies have an easily modifiable high/low beam switch inside.

I really like that some of these, like Benjamin Taylor's, can be easily modified to add a third headlight off position. Mine and some other people don't. It can still be made to work, but it will take more time and skill. For those with an /only/ on/off switch, here's what I did to add an "off" position to my switch. The whole process took me 30 minutes of efficient and careful work. Remove the two outer screws to separate the assembly. Remove the two internal screws to remove the high/low beam switch. Slide the contact board out of the switch socket - making sure to save the copper contact board, spring and ball. Remove the external switch slider by grasping its sides and pulling with 50 pounds of force. Just pull hard enough to pop it out. The inner derailleur (white plastic) should now be beveled on one side to allow more travel in the down position. The slope starts at the base of the lever handle and goes down to allow the cam to swing far enough for the hole where the spring-loaded ball enters to get past the detents and into the flat area below. his stroke. File/Dremel/Cut a new detent groove in the outer, larger portion of the white plastic derailleur body for the ball to snap into, just next to the two original detents. Make it look the same as the other two original groves. The spacing should be the same as the first two. Now file the outer mounting cover (metal) so the bottom of the lever slot sticks out a little more than 1/8". 3/16" is probably just right. There should be a small gap when the switch is in the new, lowest, off position. Collect. In the smaller plastic switch, insert the ball first, then the spring, then the copper plate and hold it all with your thumb. Place the toggle switch and its springy contents into the large white plastic switch housing and insert the electrical circuit board into its socket and over the spring loaded contact plate. Release your thumb as the board closes the spring plate. Screw the switch back into the outer metal assembly. Unscrew the metal knot. Press the outer slide cover against the protruding white tab on the switch. Send me a gift card for a hamburger.
