I had problems expanding the balloon. Trouble is, it's hard to tell how big they'll get. I put the bouquet in a vase with my bamboo plant and water and then leave it alone. The balls soaked up all the water leaving nothing for my plant. Two of my three stalks are dead! I moved the surviving stem to a new, smaller vase, moved some of the marbles to the new vase, and added more water. Unfortunately the balls didn't reach their full size and after a few minutes my vase started slowly spewing little orange balls all over the table. more water. Again! eggs. Everywhere, everywhere, everywhere. These balls are impossible to contain! I tried a third and fourth time removing enough bulbs to provide enough water for my plant. Fifth time charm! I ended up placing the balls in a container and now that the balls are saturated my plant happily soaks up water. For future users, they'll grow to be about the same size as an average blueberry, or slightly larger than average.
