These small starfish pair beautifully with larger natural starfish and their brilliant white color blends well with the natural tones of others. I bought these to decorate a wall and they work very well. I have painted them with various colors of latex based interior wall paint and they seem to have adapted to it quite well, you can still see the texture of the original starfish through the paint but you cannot see the original colour. I bought these starfish to put in an apothecary jar to decorate my robe. I saw a version like this in the Pottery Barn catalog but the price was crazy! I made an apothecary jar from a glass candle holder glued onto a cylindrical glass vase. I primed and painted a cheap glass candle holder (bought at the dollar store) mirror silver like the pottery barn cases, but for a fraction of the cost - seriously, I could make 10 of these for the price of 1 potter's barn.
