I bought these starfish to put in an apothecary jar to decorate my robe. I saw a version like this in the Pottery Barn catalog but the price was crazy! I made an apothecary jar from a glass candle holder glued onto a cylindrical glass vase. I primed and painted a cheap glass candle holder (bought at the dollar store) mirror silver like the pottery barn cases, but for a fraction of the cost - seriously, I could make 10 of these for the price of 1 potter's barn. Glasses filled with starfish. Good quality starfish, very bright white and very strong (unlike real starfish which break easily). The quality surprised me positively. I went to Michaels to buy a starfish and OH GOD! They wanted $3.50 for each starfish. This bag contained 20 starfish, just enough to fill my apothecary jar. I also saw a bowl of starfish at Pottery Barn - $59! There's no reason why I can't do it too! I definitely recommend this product - it's great quality, great price and perfect for any project. I will definitely be buying another bag or two of these as I am recreating this $59 starfish bowl for a fraction of the cost.
