These shoes are very comfortable straight out of the box. I've been wearing them every other day for the past two weeks since I've had them and there is no squeaking from the panty inserts like other Merrell shoes I've had in the past. Unlike some other brands with retro versions of this shoe (LL Bean) they have noticeable and appreciated arch support. I hope Merrell continues to make them so I can buy another pair in a few years when they wear out.
