A versatile, well-made field monitor with everything you need to get started.

I bought this field monitor to use with my Sony a6600 so that when I film more than 3 or 4 feet away from me I can see the sound level, exposure, framing, etc. I wanted something that doesn't require a separate camcorder-style battery (one less thing to worry about) and something that comes with everything I need to get started right away. This monitor came with 2 styles. HDMI cables, 2 different types of cold shoe to 1/4-20 adapters and a highly versatile and well-made 2-ball ratchet mount that allows you to position your monitor the way you want it. I want to have it. I like being able to position the monitor in front of the camera near the front of the lens. This makes it SUPER easy for me to see exactly what I need at a glance. In terms of functionality, the 3500mAh battery offers more than 3 hours of continuous use, which is more than enough for my needs. Its aluminum construction has a comfortable durability and excellent feel. I also like that there's a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom so I can quickly check if my audio is what I want. When I'm in 4K mode on the Sony, my settings or audiometers aren't output to an external monitor, so it's SUPER handy to have the monitor's audiometer and focus and exposure indicators on. a menu system to make navigation fairly easy but there are really only 3 or 4 items that I need to access regularly and I can easily assign them to the 4 function keys at the top of the monitor so I rarely have to go now to the menu. Being a "4K" monitor, it takes a 4K signal from my camera and displays a 1920x1080 video stream with no noticeable lag - again, SUPER nice. Conclusion: For the price I am very satisfied with this field monitor. It does everything I need and greatly simplifies my video production workflow, making it a worthwhile purchase for me.
