I've had ankle problems my whole life and have used pretty much all braces including the Aircast, Futuro and even the ones I got in doctor's offices. I was hoping this one would be better than some of the others but it wasn't. The main problem with this, and also with the Aircast stirrup braces, is that they do not prevent dorsiflexion (up and down) of the ankle. They are only good for preventing ankle (side of the ankle/foot) swelling and for providing some stability if you have had an inversion sprain. This active ankle brace is very similar to the traditional aircast stirrup. I couldn't put it together properly. The small strap on the back didn't hold onto anything like the instructions say. It appears to have been made from fairly cheap materials.
