Strong metal handles are good, this is a good set for removing o-rings or gaskets or even cleaning dirt from the engine. Black paint will of course be used or some other sealant remover but for the price who cares, I don't use tools for beauty, I use tools to get the job done. I wouldn't attempt to use it for removing silicone grout or grout or clay or plastic projects as this set isn't sharp enough for that. I would recommend the General Tools 80 two-point fixed scriber for this type of job. .This set is great if you don't want to damage the nicer set you have, it just isn't suitable for some applications. But it will help to remove the o-rings and install the o-rings to not be sure if they are thin silicone gaskets or o-rings as I don't work with them. Black rubber, this pick set will work fine, sure some even makes a pick or the hook is not meant for this price, if something happens I will buy it again. The great feel and quality in this set is not intended for expensive engravers or machine tools at this price point but will work under normal conditions. I expect the tip to break if bent severely or scratched with this set as this may help when changing the engine fluid hose or removing the spark plug caps when tightening or loosening. I think there is no problem. Just note that the Pick Shaft screws can be unscrewed if you don't want to. I used Loctite Thread Locker Red 271 to keep them from spinning during use.
