When I hooked up the first one and saw what a terrible range I thought it must be an accident, a single bum. I couldn't even walk 10 feet with a line of sight without starting to drop out. If anything else, or even a trivial block (like a sofa), I get permanent disappearances. This item has a high rating so I thought it might not be representative of the product as a whole. So I asked Revane to send me a replacement. The same thing. Just absolutely terrible communication range. I have to believe that since all this positive feedback, something key has changed in the design of the StarTech BT2A because the two I tried didn't even work. If I have to be right in front of the device to stay in touch, why on earth would I use Bluetooth?
