We bought this bean bag for our 8 year old who wanted it for Christmas. She understood that the point was to play with it, not to be attacked or bullied. She was careful. Within a week of receiving it I had to repair a small tear in the seam. If this was the only seam repair I wouldn't mind. It's been a few months now and I've sewn a lot of broken stitches; almost everywhere "down". So I bought a new case from another company. I expect wear and tear to occur, especially with children's items, but I've had to do too many repairs (and remove too much beanbag filling) on an item that's not old. It's a shame because it's cute and comfy; Now it's filled with a new, more durable lid.
