Only suitable for thick denim or light colored leather

I didn't see any perforation. I messed up a latch and it took a drill to try and drill out the pin. It's strong metal! Once installed, it was difficult to snap into place due to the very tight fit. I flipped it sideways to snap it into place. I put it on a cotton jacket. If you try to detach it by pulling on the material, you will tear the material. You have to grab the latch to release it. You can unbutton the material if it's thick denim or thin leather.
