That is exactly what is written. I've washed it in the dishwasher almost every day for the past few months and it's like new. It's big enough to hold regular kitchen utensils plus a fork or spoon on the side, or a good sized pancake spatula will fit inside. I also put mine under the spout of a water jug when I'm not boiling and it easily holds the day's drops.
