Review on MICHELIN X-Ice Snow 205/55 R16 95H winter by Dagmara Ufnal ᠌

I am satisfied with everything, both price and quality, I advise you to buy.

Rubber was purchased at the end of November, to replace the worn XI3, which has served me faithfully for almost 7 years. In fact, I have no experience with any other winter tires. Therefore, I will, as it were, compare the new model with the previous one. Car - Daewoo Nexia. Size - 175/65 R14. Driving mode - calm, almost pensioner. I myself live in the countryside, but I constantly drive along the highway to the city to work. What infuriated me in the previous model was the very difficult acceleration to near-zero temperatures. The new one is definitely better. Either the rubber is stiffer, or the tread is like that. XI3 seemed to me more road than Snow. Somehow he behaves more steadily. Although looking at the tread patterns, this is not surprising. Here people write that the new model does not hold the road well on dry and wet pavement. I'll probably agree. I prefer to drive calmly, I don’t drive into corners at breakneck speeds. But the fact that it actually slips into the skid easier when braking than the XI3 is for sure. But not critical, everything is easily leveled by a slightly greater distance and the correct speed limit. All the fun starts on the snowy road. The cross-country ability and directional stability of the new model is beyond praise. On it and pulls to drive in the snow. Unless in corners, you still need to be careful. Miracles don't happen In general, for a month of operation from this model, I have positive emotions. If you live outside the city, take it, you won't regret it. For purely urban use, it may be better to look at some other rubber. If it was even cheaper, it would be great. I hope the price, as with the previous model, will be justified by a long resource.

Pros
  • Excellent snow traction.
Cons
  • Price. Braking on wet pavement.
