Review on Efficient and Portable Wolverine PASS200 Handheld Scanner for Easy Document, Book, and Photo Scanning by Richard Cuneo

Simple but effective

After years of battling software conflicts between my computer and various flatbed scanners in all price ranges, I've enjoyed working with this cheap handheld scanner. I've gotten used to the fact that every time I needed a copy of something, I had to get my tablets to produce at least one page of material, at least without rebooting the system. Wolverine skips the computer entirely until I'm ready to work with scanned JPG images. I then just plug it in with the included USB cable and find that Wolverine is recognized instantly, just like a flash drive or external hard drive. The choice of 300/600 DPI in color or black and white is all I need for my purposes. I scanned the pages of books, magazines, real photos, receipts. even newspaper photos that were never scanned from my tablets. So far I haven't had a single error code with Wolverine because I was moving too fast or too erratically; I find it rather forgiving in that regard. Finally, when it comes to mobility, Wolverine is second to none. No more trying to squeeze open full size books to successfully scan them on my tablet. Instead of bringing the book to the scanner, I now bring the scanner to the book and effortlessly scan page by page, both text and images. Suggestion: To make it easier to scan something small or cumbersome, such as a B. a newspaper clipping that wants to curl up. , I've found that putting a piece of clear plastic (like the one used as a screen protector on desktop calendars) over the target works well. Simply wipe the scanner directly across the plastic. no distortion or reflections.
