Good to begin with: the structure of the pod is well made, sturdy and my older kitty seems to enjoy the right warmth and cocoon it provides. Now for the bad: the pillow that fits inside is rubbish; Cheaply made with the least amount of stuffing. BAD TEST - ODOR - strong chemical, like in an oil refinery. I hung the pillow and capsule outside to air out during the day. The capsule was able to release the gas and the smell was almost gone. However, the pillow had been washed and dried and still smelled awful. It still smells bad after a day outside in the winter sun. That must be a mistake. I have purchased many products from K&H and they are all well made and worth the investment. The odor appears to be from the heating pad and may have been stored together after manufacture, causing the pad and capsule to be fumigated. I could call K&H to see if that's ok. Maybe they can send a replacement pillow that doesn't smell.
