I changed 18-55 to 16-50, because I wanted more compactness. I got compactness, but now a hemorrhoid with a wide angle has appeared. It would be better not to change, foolishly first sold 18-55, and then bought 16-50. For the current generation of cameras, the lens will do, although the quality is mediocre anyway. Has some pros Lightweight, compact, stabilized, made of metal. A versatile lens for vacations or light shooting when you don't want to carry anything else. With it, the camera does not bother in the bag, you can often take the camera with you. Got cons: Fragility. The focus/zoom ring spins too easily and makes an unpleasant noise. When you turn on the photo view, it folds up, and when you continue shooting, it expands to fr 16, and not to the one that was the last time. In the future, these constant unnecessary folding/unfolding will lead to failure faster than expected. And most importantly, the NEX-5 has black corners and distortion at a wide angle. I have to get a little closer all the time, which is very annoying. The firmware didn't fix it. Shame and shame on Sony, they made glass, and those people who bought the first generation of cameras were beaten. Do not change the carcass because of this.
