The purchase brought only positive emotions.

In general, I'm happy with it. I bought the A6000 with this kit lens. For those who have just started to study photography, and at the same time want an inexpensive lens, it will do. Also, if you buy it separately from the camera, it will be much more expensive than immediately with the camera. What else can be added, distortion and vignetting can be easily corrected with the same lightroom / fsh, and when shooting, you should close the aperture to 6.3. Manual focus is inconvenient, it is…

Pros
  • -very light and small. When folded, it can even fit in your pocket. -fully automatic (for me it is +, for someone it may be a minus) -stabilization - Outwardly looks stylish, pleasant to the touch.
Cons
  • - not sharp in the aperture range 3.5-5.6, 7-8 is the golden mean - not sharp at the edges - on small FR strong distortion

A wonderful product, its nice to use.

Everything described below, taking into account the fact that I constantly think about Sony 16-55 2.8 or Tamron 17-70 2.8, or a couple of fixes, but every time I look at the frames from it, I catch myself thinking "does it make sense if everything looks good anyway even without processing ?", there is money for something for 60-70tr, it’s not a problem at all, but I just can’t persuade myself that I need to abandon this 16-50 whale . The lens on the a6400 camera produces gorgeous 4k, I put…

Pros
  • - the most compact zoom - good stub - light as a feather - good video quality (sony a6400, 4k or changed profiles in full HD) - cheap (at the time of writing, bu 3-5tr, a new one for 8 can be found) - small filter
Cons
  • - fragile - the extended trunk backlash (cheap plastic), but this does not affect the video in any way - not the best option for photography

Impressions from the purchase are good, buy.

I got it complete with a camera, I have no complaints about aberrations, Although there is a terrible suspicion that the sharpness is underestimated by software in order to force you to buy additional glass

A good product, more pros than cons.

Pros: Compactness, quiet zoom (perhaps the last advantage of my copy), It also allows you to achieve volume in the frame, but for this you need to catch the moment or move your legs. Different cons: Small aperture even for a kit lens (I would like the maximum aperture value to be at least 2.8) For my taste, whales from the Fujifilm system will be more sympathetic.

A little bit not what I expected, generally fine.

Pros below: Lightweight, compact, stabilized, the camera does not bother in the bag, you can often take the camera with you. Has some cons: it folds up, and when you continue shooting, it expands to fr 16, these constant unnecessary folding/ the NEX-5 they made glass,

The quality is at the highest level, be sure to try it.

Ingenious gl, on a 16MP matrix, in terms of quality and sharpness, if I can’t, or don’t want to carry a backpack with Nikon FF + 2,3 using this gl is preferable to super sharp, carefully check at f3.5-5.6 as well as bad crooked specimens!

Pros
  • 1) Phenomenal sharpness for a cheap staff zoom! Just pixel by pixel from f10 to f16 to f8 it is not necessary to compare with fixes 2) 3) Excellent, correct and pleasant color reproduction, excellent contrast, even wild backlight takes out well. 4) Very convenient for video recording
Cons
  • 1) as a rule, mechanics do not survive 2) Strong blockage of geometry at 16mm - but this is partially not a problem after processing 3) The noise of the motor and mechanics on the video 4) Strong drive noise can be heard on the video 6) Variation in quality, and in the center,

it’s almost perfect whale (on competing systems there are only Panasonic H-PS14042 and Samsung S2050NB, but the first is too expensive, and the second is plastic and without a stabilizer) can be viewed here: In the tags, I noted which lens I shot with.

Pros
  • With it, Although under certain circumstances it can be written down as a minus, NEX-3N and NEX-5R (the latter has RL and RY trim levels) it looks great and the metal case pleases to the touch.
Cons
  • there are noticeable distortions that the camera itself corrects if it "knows" 5, C3), as far as I know, did not receive a firmware ate: the camera starts for a long time: about 2 s (until the pipe crawls out) nothing outstanding, 16-18mm-F3.5, 19-23mm-F4, 24-29mm-F4.5, 30-35mm-F5, 36-50mm-F5.6 on crop 1.5 Solution: either crop the picture on the computer, or hold the second lens (SEL55210).

Overall pretty good, an equal number of pros and cons.

If you are not very demanding and shoot in jpg or lens size is the main factor for you, then the lens will suit you. If you have already had experience shooting in Raw with good DSLR lenses, then this lens will disappoint you. I already regret that I took the camera with him, and not with a lens with a fixed focal length. Has some pros Compact, in the off state it shifts to very small sizes. The performance for a lens of such a small size is not bad. Cons: - Vignetting and distortion. At the…

I did not regret the purchase, everything is fine.

In general, I think that a decent whale lens. Its pros: Compactness, quiet zoom (perhaps the last advantage of my copy), built-in optical stabilizer. You can get a beautiful picture even without much experience in photography. It also allows you to achieve volume in the frame, but for this you need to catch the moment or move your legs. Cons: Small aperture even for a kit lens (I would like the maximum aperture value to be at least 2.8). Bokeh is poorly defined. For my taste, whales from the…

I'm impressed! Exactly the product deserves your attention.

Different pros: Lightweight, compact, quiet, the distortion that everyone writes about is corrected automatically by any Nex, you just need to turn on this function in the camera (if someone didn’t know about it, I’m sorry guys :)) there is soap, but only at high ISOs at 200 sharp always even in the open. Cons below: For such a compactness, low weight, reasonable price, they are not there, everything else that they write, learn to shoot the guys and you won’t need to write a lot and whine about

Performs its functions, nothing unusual.

I changed 18-55 to 16-50, because I wanted more compactness. I got compactness, but now a hemorrhoid with a wide angle has appeared. It would be better not to change, foolishly first sold 18-55, and then bought 16-50. For the current generation of cameras, the lens will do, although the quality is mediocre anyway. Has some pros Lightweight, compact, stabilized, made of metal. A versatile lens for vacations or light shooting when you don't want to carry anything else. With it, the camera does…

As such, there are no disadvantages, it is convenient to use.

Best thing for the money, glad I did it.

I had experience using many lenses (including kit lenses) from Canon and Nikon, and I can say about the subject that this is the best budget kit lens I've ever seen. I emphasize - from whales. I will compare with them, because as for the picture, everything here is standard for a whale. First of all, compared to analogues, the lens is ultra-compact and the focal length is changed using a motor. It works exceptionally quickly - it switches from extreme to extreme position in a split second…

Pros
  • compact (for its focal lengths), sharp in the center (for a whale), very fast zoom (for electronic), effective stub, good for video, quality materials and assembly, looks perfect with the new nex, a5000 and a6000 cameras, a lot of "sony style"
Cons
  • all the shortcomings of whale lenses - dark, sharpness at the edges drops sharply, a "flat" picture without a hint of artistry

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is at the level, I am satisfied with everything.

Bought for 8 ( Market offered a discount) not counting on something good, but after taking a picture, I realized that it was inferior to expensive ones, except perhaps only in the range of focal lengths and, of course, aperture. I mainly shoot on the Tamron 18-200 because of its versatility, but when I'm specifically going to shoot something artistic and 35mm is not suitable, I use it to get better shots. In general, surprised in a good sense of the word. I put the aperture ratio on 5 stars…

Pros
  • Very satisfied. The clarity on the Alpha 6600 is pixel-by-pixel. Stabilization without complaints. And, surprisingly, regarding flare when shooting in backlight, one of the best in my collection (at the level of 35 mm 1.8 oss).
Cons
  • The focal length is changed not by rotating the ring, but by a sliding button - this is NOT a drawback - it's just unusual.

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The quality does not meet expectations, I will not buy any more.

I took this lens for the Sony A6500 as a pocket option for video shooting, and now I spit. I handed it over to the service 2 times, changed the motor and gearbox, then added lubricants - it didn’t help much. Yes, they told me that they are all like that, they showed me another one on the camera, handed over for repair - even louder! And this despite the fact that the Sony website says: "Lens with silent zoom, ideal for video shooting"! Sheer deception! The service refuses to sign the return…

Pros
  • Nothing special, standard zoom that comes with the camera.
Cons
  • Pretty strong distortion at a wide angle, although it is corrected in Adobe RAW, soaps at the beginning and end of the zoom with an open aperture. But the most important thing is the terrible noise of the zoom motor. Not just noise, but some kind of crack!

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not the best quality, but generally not bad.

Like many, having a Sony Nex, with the purchase of this lens, I wanted to get a compact universal camera. Of a good dozen (!) Viewed copies of 16-50, only two could boast of relatively uniform sharpness at a wide angle, despite the fact that at 20-50 mm the picture quality was acceptable to everyone. The point is in the design of the lens - at a wide angle, the rear lens unit has greater mobility . to put it simply, it dangles in the body much more than when zooming towards 50mm. And since…

Pros
  • Dimensions, weight, image quality for optics from a set (if you're lucky)
Cons
  • Design, poor quality control, price separate from the camera

I don't want to spend my money on this item.

Prior to that (for January - March 2022) I took three more A6000 kit kits (for friends and one for replacement - there was a mechanical defect of the carcass, a dent on the side surface), on two kits the lenses were of the same quality as described above (for all lenses, a full studio test). And only one of the indicated 3 tested was a little better (at least some sharpness was on the open). On specialized forums, most users speak extremely negatively about the quality of the 16-50mm kit lens,

Pros
  • Compact, satisfactory picture in bright sunlight with apertures above f/8
Cons
  • Disastrously poor image quality! On a whale (which was taken complete with a carcass) at a wide angle at an open aperture, it is GENERALLY IMPOSSIBLE to get a sharp image (in any mode, up to manual focus on a stationary object, a blurry, muddy-unsharp image is obtained). After a long correspondence with the Sony service and sending them test shots (according to the ISO test tables of A0 format), the transfer of the kit (camera + kit) for repair has now been formalized through the central SONY service, I'm waiting for the courier. But they said that the Service Center does not deal with the exchange and they only do repairs (and what kind of lens repair is possible in the service center ? it is non-separable, and there are no conditions for such work there - this must be sent to the factory)

The item is very cool, it could be worse.

for those who care about compactness and need a small zoom - it will do I often carry a fotik with me, including hiking and various extreme sports there were no problems with a 16mm fix, and this selp1650 died a second time in a year afraid of dust and dirt, quickly began to buzz when zooming with strong overloads on the ATV, the zoom knob became oval, it jammed - repair I bought a NEX-7, with the new firmware it fixes the jambs of optics itself, crops the picture a little bit on the…

Pros
  • compact, smooth zoom for video, average quality at the level of whale 1855
Cons
  • flimsy, only electronic zoom, on the old NEX-5 strong vignetting and barrel-shaped
