The best thing for the money, I'm glad I chose this option.

This small (yes, remote) lens is perhaps the last dinosaur of the era when compactness was an integral part of the philosophy of SONY APS-C mirrorless cameras. Of course, it is optically flawed, and on modern 24-megapixel matrices it has a hard time, but even now it will find a place in the arsenal of a photo enthusiast (not to mention video). There is simply no other such station wagon for 24-75 EGF or so, the dimensions and weight of which make it easy to put it in a jacket pocket or in a bag

Pros
  • Compactness, light weight, basic range of focal lengths, relatively small minimum focusing distance (25 cm), affordable price (almost new ones can be found on the secondary), nice picture.
Cons
  • Reset the selected focal length when falling asleep. Fragile construct.

Worst product for the money, wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The only good thing about this lens is that the camera can easily fit even in a jacket pocket without removing it. For the rest. I don't know what motivated Sony to attach such a disgusting lens to not-so-cheap cameras that is only suitable for throwing it in the trash immediately after buying a camera. Of the shortcomings, in my opinion, he collected everything that can only be bad in a lens - absolutely soapy edges at any aperture and at any focal length, just depressing vignetting (I…

Pros
  • Not big size and weight, that's all the advantages
Cons
  • It is not possible to get a high-quality photograph with this glass, the exception is a portrait, and that is conditional. Fully electronic drive

A really necessary purchase, glad I found this product.

The lens that you MUST HAVE if you have a sony a 6xxx. This is the most versatile glass in existence. It is normal to shoot both photos and videos and it is convenient to carry because of the miniature size. It doesn’t show optical miracles in the photo, but compared to whales, it’s normal, and in autofocus it’s a BULLET. Children and crazy animals are his element. On the a6300, I don’t even know what to do so that he doesn’t have time to visit. The video shows excellent autofocus, silent…

Pros
  • -The size -The weight -focal -Silent operation
Cons
  • Zoom settings get lost when camera is turned off

It is better not to buy it, the product is not what it should be.

I took this glass for myself as a lens for everyday use (well, it doesn’t pull 16-50 for a travel zoom, but I threw it into my bag and let it lie) - while it was warm, everything is fine: in the bag, just in case, there is always a compact camera with a good matrix, if anything interesting, I took a picture or filmed it on video (although there is noise from the zoom motor, but within reason), but then winter came and, alas, it turned out that its zoom is NOT friendly with our winter: at first…

Pros
  • Not a bad idea, if it works, then it is compact, at a focal length of 35-50, and with a covered aperture, it draws a picture well and sharply.
Cons
  • Wide angle - the picture is so-so, it is difficult to find filters and nozzles for a 40.5mm thread, and most importantly: flimsy and does not like frost.

Not a bad product, but you can do better.

I installed it on the NEX-7 (firmware is new 1.01, where the image quality for wide-angle lenses has been improved). I was surprised: a wider viewing angle compared to the NEX-6 and a large barrel-shaped distortion, which the NEX-7 more or less successfully corrects in jpeg. Disappointing: darkening in the corners at the minimum focal length. I hope the Japanese engineers will not delay fixing this flaw and will release a new firmware for the seven, although . (they were in no hurry with the…

Pros
  • compact, sharp, well adapted to NEX-6
Cons
  • the aperture is not so hot, when installed on the NEX-7 it does not work correctly at a wide angle

Mediocre product, probably won't use.

For control, the front ring and the "swing" located on the left are used. Ring - fast zoom (but quite suitable for getting into the desired FR) or manual focus. Swing - slower and smoother focusing (convenient for video, although the sound of the motor is still clearly audible), with manual focusing - zoom only with them. The Nex-6 has a mode in which the ring is responsible for the zoom, but after half-pressing the shutter will control the focus. The focusing stroke is large and without any…

Pros
  • Very compact (when folded) and light. Wide (16mm) angle. The front lens does not rotate.
Cons
  • With a FR of 16-18 mm, very (!) Strong vignetting. Very strong distortion at wide angle. For most of the FR range, satisfactory sharpness begins only with aperture 5.6. At maximum zoom, you will have to cover up to 6.3-7.1. (but no more, since diffraction will begin to affect from 8.0). When using an adapter for filters of a larger diameter, it rests on the zoom / focus ring and the lens starts to slip when turned on / off. There is no AF / MF switch or any mechanical zoom / focus control. Infinity at MF is not the end position of the ring, it needs to be caught, which complicates, for example, night shooting. The oddity of my copy is poor electrical insulation - when zooming, it pinches the finger of the right hand that touches the lens.
