For control, the front ring and the "swing" located on the left are used. Ring - fast zoom (but quite suitable for getting into the desired FR) or manual focus. Swing - slower and smoother focusing (convenient for video, although the sound of the motor is still clearly audible), with manual focusing - zoom only with them. The Nex-6 has a mode in which the ring is responsible for the zoom, but after half-pressing the shutter will control the focus. The focusing stroke is large and without any special lags - quite convenient (for a motor drive, of course). In general, the lens drive is implemented normally - for the sake of compactness, you can be patient. In principle, distortion and vignetting in jpg files are corrected by the camera (Nex-6) when shooting (at the cost of a little edge trimming and sharpening, especially at the edges of the frame) and the full scale of the problem becomes clearly visible only when raw is opened in the converter. When shooting a video, the camera also corrects distortion, but when zooming, the camera does not have time to react and you can see how the frame "bends". In general, the lens is tolerable if you know its weak points and try to get around them. Of course, it does not reveal the full potential of a 16MP matrix, but for "domestic" purposes and shooting in normal lighting is quite enough. If you cover the aperture, the soap will not catch your eye, although absolute sharpness cannot be achieved in principle - this is a fee for compactness.
