I bought this case to house two M.2 drives that I use for backups. When connected to a USB 3.1 Gen2 port, read and write speeds are 1000MB/s. It cools the M.2. You should be aware that the fan is very quiet, so it's hard to tell if it's working. I attached a 1 inch strip of tissue paper so the end extends past the corner of the fan outlet. Now I can take a look and immediately say that it works. I bought this model because M.2 cases can get very hot, so it's important to keep the fan running if you want M.2 to stay cool. Contrary to some cases, when the fan has stopped there seems to be enough vents to prevent damage to the chips. I would buy again.
