Sturdy, well designed part, great replacement for the cheap original plastic valves that come with most barrel style water dispensers. The included silicone washers and washers are well thought out. No problems with leakage around the valve. With good soft silicone washers, hand tightening was enough to get a leak-free seal. A few reviewers mentioned a problem I didn't encounter at all: a handle that required two hands, one to hold the valve and the other to turn the handle (presumably because the force required to turn the handle would cause the handle to turn everything attached to it rotates ) . At least that's how the complaint sounded to me, maybe I misinterpreted it. But I didn't have any such difficulties at all: the handle rotates either way with a light finger touch, nice and smooth, not sticky and not tight. Several reviewers also said it drips. I agree here, something like this: after the pen is turned off, it drips once, immediately a large drop as the liquid remaining in the outlet port (behind the valve) comes out. But it happens instantly, so all you have to do is hold the glass for 1-2 more seconds and you'll catch that drop. A little trouble, yes, but not enough to lower his rating. One reviewer complained about the color of the washer: light blue. Yes, but it's just a plastic protective layer that will peel off immediately. Below silver. This is a really well made piece, functional and decent looking.
