I made everything to measure and it fits my baby perfectly. She is 4 years old and weighs about 38 pounds. I bought her a size 5. It's cotton, not a silky or spandex swimsuit. This is a bodysuit sweater, no zipper. Only two things I would say, it sucks; The arms are a little loose on my baby but the body fits well and it arrives in a wrapped bag and mine was crumpled.
