Check your walls and your tools

Okay I'm not very handy and thought the TP adhesive holder would be a great space saver in my small bathroom to replace the stand which was very functional but plenty of space took up the space. Too much space next to the toilet. Unfortunately, I missed the warning that the glue should not be used on painted walls. It's up to me although looking at the other reviews here I see a lot of other people happily putting glue on their painted walls anyway so who knows. I've resigned myself to installing dowels in drywall. There were no instructions in my package, so I shyly wandered through YouTube tutorials on installing drywall anchors. Unfortunately, this has made duct tape my enemy as it covers the screw holes and makes marking screw placement on the wall a chore. As this item comes tool free to make installation easier I had to collect all the different screwdrivers etc. We had to figure out together what to do next in the house. I don't have a drill, so I improvised and used a hex wrench to make a hole large enough to install the anchors in the drywall. There was a lot of trial and error on the first hole, but the second hole was much easier. Luckily I have a level so I was sure I had the holes lined up correctly. As already mentioned, there were no instructions in the packaging. I had the foresight to put small washers on the screws before inserting them into the dowels. These washers ensure the black screw caps stay in place. I've noticed many reviews complaining that their screw caps would fall off - I suspect they missed this important step. So now everything is ready, Cheers. What can I say? It seems durable and definitely saves space. Inconspicuous in appearance, but functional. I would probably choose a different style if I had to do it again. My advice is to make sure you understand if the adhesive is compatible with your wall and if not, consider your confidence when installing screw anchors etc without instructions or tools. Granted, this isn't a very big requirement, but you can get some work done if you don't have the existing knowledge or tools that are usually mandated for this type of mini-project.
