This recorder really exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is very good, even when using the built-in microphones. For my purposes, I usually connect an external microphone (Rode VideoMic Pro) and the sound quality improves noticeably. But even without an external microphone, the quality is not bad. There's also the convenience of a USB connection, which makes me happy I chose this recorder over Tascam or Zoom. It can also be slipped into a shirt pocket (although it picks up the sound of cloth sliding across the recorder as it moves). Purchase an optional soft-sided case if you want to use it this way. ). To record sermons I put mine on MP3 128kbs. So far I haven't seen a need to increase the size to 256 KB or use an uncompressed format. The battery life is more than sufficient. The only feature that wouldn't be great is a 1/4-20 thread that would allow it to be mounted on a stand. Otherwise it's a great recorder.
