These are my favorite types of brushes for detail work on wood projects at times, but typically, I use them on canvas w/ acrylic paint. They're so easy to clean between colors I don't have to spend 30 minutes at the sink or squashing bristles into a cup to no avail, or running the brush over bumpy side of a brush cleaner/holder/reservoir, which all trash the brushes. They don't transfer colors and are very easy to learn how to use. They're very smooth and can also work quite well with watercolors or watered down acrylics. A great buy, though a tad expensive here, and useful for novices and experts alike. Great gift!
