Okay, but incredibly difficult to put on.
The little "plate" at the bottom isn't attached to the screw, so you'll have to try and hold it in place until the legs grab the side of the nail, and then the Turn the handle to tighten the whole thing. It's great in theory and when I was able to get it to stay I think it helped, but it was too much of a hassle to use regularly so I can't say for sure if that would have helped solve the problem. Maybe it would be easier if you had a different pair of hands.?
