Review on Gigabit Wireless AP RB951G-2HND πŸ’» Mikrotik with 1000mW Power and 5 Ports by Tung Duong ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I would definitely recommend the purchase, I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

The tool has exceeded my expectations in every way. It has been working for more than a year now, and it satisfies me with its consistent performance, the absence of glitches and freezes; I have not been required to restart it at any point (except when I was directly involved in the configuration). In spite of the fact that it provides Wi-Fi service to three PCs and several smartphones, this is the case. A reliable and powerful Wi-Fi connection β€” I verified it with a smartphone on the street β€” I leave the house for forty meters β€” the signal is "full," and this is in spite of the fact that there are two metal doors and an apartment window on the back side between us! As soon as I got it and connected it, I was confronted with the reality that I would not be able to set it up on the fly; instead, I would need to consult Google and do some reading. Everything there appears to be entirely unique in comparison to, for example, TP-Link and D-Link products and other such innovations. If the latter have a Wizard for setting up, with the help of which even a "teapot" will somehow set up the device for work, then there is no such thing in Mikrotik. If the latter have a Wizard for setting up, then even a "teapot" will somehow set up the device for work. At least I wasn't able to locate it. In terms of configuration, there is a choice between a web interface, a command line (much to the delight of Linux users), and the Winbox program; however, none of these options are for novices. All of this requires some knowledge. However, if your Internet service provider offers DHCP settings, which is the case in the vast majority of situations, then it is highly likely that your Mikrotik router will automatically pick them up and connect to the Internet. However, this is obviously not enough to create a secure network, so additional configuration will be required. This is a device for people who are fans of the "set it and forget it" philosophy; I have had the device for about two years at this point, and based on how well it works, I feel that (with the appropriate tuning) you will not need to touch it for many years to come. In terms of cost, it is slightly more expensive than the standard price for residential routers; nevertheless, the level of quality offered justifies this premium. Personally, I believe that it is something that should be taken, and it is quite doubtful that I will trade in this device for anything else. I have not yet encountered the most impressive machine in its category.

Pros
  • works perfectly, with no hiccups or freezes web interface, command line in Unix, and the Winbox program are among the several control techniques. a fairly broad range of available customizations incredibly potent gear, capable of pulling in traffic at hundreds of megabits per second (most home routers can hardly pull 90 Mbps) Gigabit Ethernet ports along with a reliable and powerful Wi-Fi signal
Cons
  • The designers did not make an effort to create an interface that is "user friendly," and as a result, putting together this device would be difficult for someone with no prior experience; someone with experience in putting together this type of hardware is required.
