Review on πŸ”Š Edifier R2000DB Studio Monitors: Powered Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers with Optical Input, 120 Watts RMS - Black by Abhey Abhi ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality, did not expect at all for the price.

For a long time I chose speakers in this price segment. The choice was only based on reviews on the Internet. In our stores, they only let you listen if you are going to buy - in order to check the serviceability. On many channels of "audio reviewers" this brand seems to be trusted. Usually reviews do this - they usually buy columns of 3 different companies of the same type and approximately the same price and compare them with each other. So, no matter how much I looked at such comparisons, wherever edifier took part, they came out the winner. In this price segment (when I bought 12 thousand) there is no Edifier competition at all. Microlab, sven, creative, defender - plastic. I even bought a new table cover for them :) there was not enough space on the old table. So, about the minus: When connected via optics (S / PDIF), the speakers, when they do not receive a sound signal, instantly "fall asleep" and wake up with an unpleasant click. Here's an example, you're watching a video, you press pause, the speakers instantly fall asleep. You press play, there is a click. I was able to overcome this only by outputting the sound from them to a stereo mixer (roughly speaking, duplicating the sound on one of the connected devices) and selecting the "listen from this device" option. The sound quality in terms of optics is, of course, much better, to my inexperienced ears. But in the end, I still went back to the analog input ("mini-jack").

Pros
  • - Sound. The best of what I had from computer acoustics. I listen to rock, classical, synth-pop, electronic and everything is fine for this music. - Separate "krutilki" to change the level of bass and treble.
Cons
  • A couple of minuses, but they are not related to the sound. The main, in my opinion, minus is a stupid volume encoder with a huge step. To change the volume level from 0 to 100%, you need to turn it 20 times (I didn’t exactly count, maybe more, maybe less), while in speakers that use a variable resistor for this, only one (!) turn is required. The second minus applies not only to these columns - the location of the controls at the back. Now this design is in vogue - do not take out the controls on the front panel. Well, the third smallest, literally and figuratively, minus the remote control. Firstly, it is too small - it is easy to lose, and secondly, remotes of this design quickly fail, since I use them very rarely. Oh yes, I forgot one more minus. And here it concerns the "iron" part. I will write about it below.
