Review on Polk Audio TL1 Performance Entertainment by Rob Vizitei

I often buy things that expect absolutely less from them, only to fall short of even that low bar. Reviews for this center speaker have always been good, but that doesn't matter here. I bought it at a low selling price, expecting to be disappointed as I was replacing a great sounding speaker that was unfortunately too bulky for its place on the mantelpiece. Pleasantly surprised, I can't even describe it. This speaker is tiny but delivers quite a rich sound. Basses, middles and trebles are represented very well. It's a warm and full sound, never boomy, never tinny, never muddy. I don't seem to have sacrificed anything in terms of sound quality by taking a third the size of my other speaker. It looks nice and modest enough without any fancy bling or instantly outdated design touches. The speaker terminals are recessed so your connections don't get in the way if you're flush-mounting or hanging it on the wall. It's hard to say what else to say. I have it as part of a 7.2 system in a large room and it never gets lost in the competition with other speakers. A truly capable performer in a small package at an insane price.
