I like to cook in cast iron pans. I've been trying to find a good way to clean them. These are Lodge cast iron pans. I used lodge scrapers but it still hurt. They left too many baked leftovers. So I decided to try this stainless steel chain mail route. I couldn't be happier. I made cheeseburgers and everything was pan fried. It now has a raised grilling surface. I didn't get to the pot until the next day. I warmed up the pan a bit and got to work. The effort required was about the same or slightly less than with scrapers. As a result, the pan is also much cleaner between the raised grilling surface. Cleaning the stainless steel post was just as easy. Dawn shook some soap around in her hand and then rinsed it out. Overall I'm happy with the process and I'm not afraid to wash another cast iron skillet.
