This product has two partitions, public and protected (this is another problem - it's impossible to have a protected volume). When mounting, the public partition is mounted as a drive in Windows, but the protected partition cannot be viewed. I did some digging and got hold of a Linux machine. Connect it to it and the secure partition will be visible without any problems (so it might work fine on a Mac too). After repeated attempts, it is not possible to force the secure partition using fingerprint scanner or password override in Windows. The fact that the admin tool says "Passwrod" should have let me down. Zero stars, totally useless. EDIT: First of all I would say that the customer service is great. They contacted me and exchanged the device free of charge. The second module doesn't work like the first, so there's clearly something wrong with the first. This is of great importance and I have updated my review and rating. Good customer service alone is worth it. Well done to their customer support team. They also stated that it is not possible to have a 100% secure drive. Some disk space MUST be allocated to the public/unprotected drive. This is an issue when you need a "secure drive" and it also means that the drive cannot be used in a standalone configuration (e.g. in a DVR).
