I spend most of my time with headphones on my computer. My husband and I have computers in the same room and while he's watching his videos or playing his games I'll listen to a movie I've watched a thousand times while I'm doing something else. The audio jack broke recently. Upward facing audio jack + headphones + cats = really just a matter of time. So I found that I couldn't use my headphones, which was driving me crazy. I don't like bothering others with what I hear, unless I'm cleaning or tinkering, and even then they're usually not in the same area as others. I knew there had to be some kind of USB audio jack and I bought one. Everything worked like a dream. Plugged it in, plugged in my headphones and off we went to watch those incredibly cheesy 80's movies that I love so much. I bought a shorter cable which worked great for my needs. I noticed that this increased the volume. So if you like to explode regularly, you can lower the volume before setting the decibel you want. The adapter seems very sturdy and well built and the packaging was sleek too so it's a prop. I also got a message from the seller which is a touch of professionalism I like even if it's just a blocked email. Attention to detail and such. Very happy with my purchase. I doubt I'll ever need to buy another one, but if I ever do I'll happily return to this adapter.
