I've been using earlier versions of this Sandisk 16Gb drive for MP3 players in my cars and at home for years and the connector on them was pretty solid metal, like and every USB plug I've ever seen. The connector housing in this "version" is made entirely of plastic. I have my doubts that it will hold up like previous versions. The weight factor in a USB drive of this configuration is irrelevant to me, but the durability is there. If they hold out for a reasonable amount of time, I might revise my estimate. Also in terms of speed. I haven't done any "bench tests" but I don't see a huge speed improvement over the previous USB3 model, as far as my goals go, the "ease of use" is the same as any similar drive type, regardless of brand .
