We bought these to put under an antique chest that we use as a coffee table so we can easily move them around when I'm vacuuming and when my grandson is building pillow forts! I had bigger wheels than I really need because sometimes people sit on the coffee table so I wanted to make sure the wheels could handle the extra weight. We also placed them under the breasts so they weren't as visible. Works perfect. I didn't buy with brakes, although now I'm wondering if it was necessary. the time will tell. I'm so used to a stationary coffee table item that I'm going to find out if one that moves too easily was such a good idea!
