Looks bad, doesn't break.

I haven't played ice hockey for a long time. A few years ago there was only one good tape manufacturer. It looks like it could still be the case. If I bought this tape for my hockey stick I would return it in a heartbeat! I'm wrapping the handles of some battered throwing knives, so that should do the trick. Although hardly. My first thought as I started unwinding was that the little strand of tape was already starting to get dirty. This image is literally the finished edge of the ribbon. When I was playing, the reel of tape went straight into the trash can. That frayed edge was what you didn't want. I couldn't believe there was a finished cut on the edges of each roll. It will not tear easily either. I had to use scissors to cut it. Every time I tried to rip the end off it just twisted. I saw a lot of reviews above 4 stars and thought I could get some extra rolls for the same price as some good stuff. Also made in Canada. It seemed like a good choice. You know the old adage, "You get what you pay for?" If you don't care about what I've discussed, this material might be for you. Although it was far from the cheapest option. It was in the middle and upper price segment. If you care about your ribbon, how it looks and performs, just spend the extra money and buy a Renfrew. I definitely wish I had.

Pros
  • Sports and active recreation
Cons
  • Very expensive
