I took 06/14/2022 used for 2k. The controller board needs to be improved - most modern disks have contact pads to the HDA without a protective coating (planned obsolescence), and as a result, after five years of operation, they are so oxidized that they cannot transmit a normal signal. In this model, the Seagate also "annealed" the controller with cooling, sticking a 5 by 5 mm thermal pad on a 12x12mm chip and leaving the second chip without any cooling at all. Solution: - unscrew the controller board (torx T6); - we clean the contact group of the motor and heads with a cotton swab with alcohol; - apply flux to the pads; - tin them with a soldering iron with solder; - remove excess tin with a braid; - we clean the remains of the flux with alcohol; - wipe the contacts of the HDA itself with alcohol; - put a normal size thermal pad on the main chip (thickness is about 0.8mm); - we put a double gasket about 1.6 mm thick on an additional chip (2x0.8); - we collect everything and run the tests; - put the disc in the computer with peace of mind. In fact, this is exactly what ordinary hard drives used to do, now it remains among the SAS that Enterprise (tinned contacts or gold-plated)
