The first was defective; hope the second one works.
Defective at first. replacement ordered. hope this works :-(Update - I have a second block. One of the buttons on it didn't work. Luckily(?) it's a really cheap build so I was able to peel off the button membrane and clean the pins under the button that didn't work. Doesn't work. Works alright now. I'm glad it works now, but damn - the first block is completely DOA, and the second one I had to fiddle with to make it work. :-(
