I bought a 3x5 to take spices with me when I travel. We were away for 4 months and all packages have held up great. When I first filled them I sealed them (I have a food sealer) for fear they might burst in transit but found that wasn't even necessary. You could smell some of the stronger spices, but that's okay since I put the spices in the large zipper. When I arrived at my first destination I had to break the seal and have had to travel without an extra shift ever since. Sealing and found that the bags still work well, no additional sealing is required. The bags moved quite a bit and they held up very well. What I found was that once I ripped off the top of the bag at the notch (where I sealed it), the bag became more difficult to open. It was uncomfortable. While I can reuse these pouches, I'll probably get a different set and leave them unsealed so the pouches are easier to open. What would be really cool would be if the top of the bag was offset to make it easier to separate and open. Just a thought. I really like that the bags have a pleated bottom to a) hold more and b) stand up. I highly recommend it but am disappointed to read that others are having issues with seals. I hope the seller takes care of it!
