I decided to replace the old mandolin with a rotating one and this one seemed the most promising to me. Just used it today for grating carrots and potatoes for pancakes and slicing pumpkin. Machine works well, blades change easily. And best of all, every detail is easily accessible for cleaning! The machine itself is a bit fragile, so I was careful not to try to force it to spin if something got stuck. After shifting veggies and trying different pressures, I think this kitchen cut just has a learning curve that takes practice. It's definitely worth the money and I'm very happy with it.
