I have a size 14 in black for my average height and skinny 13 year old. The shorts fit perfectly. At first he complained that the shorts were too long, but in fact as they were all cotton they shrank in the wash. He tells me they feel great, no need to adjust the waist with the usual string because they are made for regular kids. No heavy ones. I'll sew up the pockets a bit so he doesn't lose his phone. Can't fault the pockets, but I'd be more comfortable that way. Having said all that, I find that they are expensive.
