Review on Moen GX50C Horsepower Continuous Disposal by Andre Arias

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Measure before you buy.

I have looked at several waste assessment bodies. The best rated are the various top brands that are comparable. This was on average about 4.5. One site helped me choose the right brand and model by answering a few questions. No matter what I answered, InSinkErator was always recommended. (Do you think they were paid for this?) I had an nSinkErator Badger 500 that started leaking after 4 years. The one I had before, Badger 5, got strong after 9 years. The difference was that older InSinkErators had stainless steel parts; New ones have galvanized steel that will rust. That's why I chose this model with stainless steel details. The engine is much quieter and runs smoothly. Now for the measurements. I couldn't install it with the mark facing forward and the drain and dishwasher inlet on the left (right in picture) because the PVC piping was blocking it, so I had to turn it a quarter turn and put them forward. It is wider from front to back than from the side. I had to go to HD to get the parts working. Plumbing department. The boss (a licensed plumber) told me that the parts I chose for this job wouldn't work because they weren't designed for it. Eventually I gave up, bought a few options and left. What I didn't use I returned the next day. I am grateful that I kept the black L-shaped tailpipe from the Badger 500. I had to rotate the flange and use it as a downspout in a P-trap. Even though it took me many hours instead of about 1 hour to replace it with the previous model, I made the right decision. If I had measured first, I might have gone for a different brand or model. I tend to underestimate new things. It could be 5 stars. A NOTICE. Some reviewers complained that it's noisy. You probably bought a similar model (GXp50C vs. GX50C) without noise isolation (see third photo). Almost the same model No. The one I bought is very quiet so make sure you have a spot to take the first photo and not the last.
